2024 Hybrid Calligraphy - almost a 5 star.
By Senior driver | on Sunday, September 01, 2024
I’ll keep this rating short, but bottom line - Wow, when it comes to luxury interior, quiet cabin, smooth ride, and safety features, it’s hard to beat, especially considering it’s MSRP. Making a change from a gas 3 row SUV it did take some time to adapt to a hybrid performance, but can’t beat 34 mpg average (regular gas). The infotainment system I found amazing but again took some effort to set up it all up. We wanted a safe vehicle and with the number of sensors and camera capabilities makes safe driving easy. There are things I wish they included - first being a spare tire. As of now, only the gas SantaFe gets a spare as the hybrid is equipped with a plugin tire air pump. Interior design does not have overhead compartment for sunglasses, nor a convenient place for coin storage. Small things I know, but just a FYI.… - 5.0
June 30, 2024 Purchase

For a week my wife and I have been enjoying the ride and comfort of a 2024 Santa Fe Hyundai Hybrid Limited. MPG is beyond my expectations as well as the ride. The electronics can be a little overwhelming ( as my children remind me, I’m a boomer). Love the driver assist. 20 inch wheels make a big difference on rough roads. Very quiet except the sound system that is great.… - 4.0
Great Overall, but Weird Flaws Drag It Down
By Kelly | on Monday, July 07, 2025
I’ve had my 2025 Santa Fe Hybrid Limited since December and I’m coming up on 12,000 miles. It does a lot right. It looks good, drives well, and hauls everything I need. But there are a few odd choices and oversold features that hold it back from being great. The new boxy design stands out. Rockwood Green turns heads, and the cabin feels clean and upscale. The infotainment system is excellent, responsive, well laid out, and easy to use. The digital driver display, on the other hand, is limited. You can’t get a map view or much customization, which feels like a missed opportunity. I wasn’t expecting a luxury SUV for 43 grand, but this part could have been better with minimal effort. I originally wanted the black wheels and exterior styling of the Calligraphy trim, but it forced me into either black or white interior and second-row captain’s chairs. That didn’t work for me. With two idiot mastiffs and a kid to haul around, I needed the bench seat and a tan interior. The Limited was the only way to get a practical setup that fit my life, even if I had to give up some of the higher-end styling. Ride quality is firm but controlled. The hybrid powertrain handles highway driving and passing without struggle, even with the vehicle fully loaded. Visibility is great, and the cargo space is fantastic. The seats fold totally flat, and I’ve had no issue packing in dogs, golf clubs, and everything else. The third row is tight, but it works for short trips or smaller passengers. The stock audio system is weak. I had to add a sub to get anything approaching decent bass, which is disappointing for something with “Bose” audio. The biggest frustration is the cruise control. It will not function properly if you are wearing sunglasses in Colorado sun. It throws warnings and disables itself until you take them off. That makes it useless in exactly the conditions where I wanted it most. Fuel economy has also been underwhelming. It was advertised at 34 to 35 miles per gallon, but I have never hit 30. I average around 25 to 28 per tank. It is better than a traditional gas SUV, but it is nowhere near what Hyundai claimed. There is no spare tire. You get a flat repair kit, which is better than nothing, but not ideal in a family SUV designed for road trips. In the end, I still like it. For the price, I got what I expected, and in a market where everything is overpriced, I am not unhappy. But the cruise control issue, weak audio, limited screen customization, and inflated mileage figures keep it from being a five-star vehicle.…
